Hi and welcome to The Black Caucus Podcast. I'm Marla Matime, the creator and host of this platform. I created it out of the need to ensure that the avenue from our grassroots to grass-tops is seamless and relatable to our community.
Our objective is to provide a platform for policy, education, information, and news to be discussed amongst the Black elected officials throughout the nation. We believe that Black elected and appointed officials on the local city, county, state, legislative, and federal levels should unite to share the policy, programs, and laws that they are working on so that the our communities as a whole can support and advocate for those in office.
We also believe that community based organizations can have a streamlined approach to reach elected and appointed officials to provide insight on what is happening on the ground in the communities that they serve so that policy and program planning can be an efficient and effective.
The Black Caucus Podcast is a space that provides a sounding board for the community based organizations to bring forth key issues, policy and programs that Black elected and appointed officials can support and amplify.
So, again welcome, to the Black Caucus Podcast.
